Lasse Rømer
- Works in the workshop
- Employed at Toms since 2009
Lasse is a highly valued employee at Toms. Since he started, he has held many positions at the factory and tackled many challenges.
Lasse tells his story:
It all started with a job as Christmas helper in packaging on the night shift and by the end of 2012, I was offered a position as apprentice in the workshop.
From Christmas helper to apprentice
I chose to apply for a job at Toms in 2009 after doing basic training for an education that did not have a lot of demand for new apprentices because of the economic crisis.
I started as Christmas helper on the night shift in Ballerup and 4 months later, I got a regular job in dragées with the day shift as a production worker. 2 years later, I was promoted to assistant coordinator on the day shift and sometimes on the evening shift.
Still, I wanted to work with the technical aspects and by the end of 2012, I was offered a position as an apprentice in the workshop.
What is important for you?
I like the fact that the days are never the same at Toms.
In the jobs I have held at Toms, I have learned that quality and teamwork are important and I am happy to be a part of it.
Why Toms?
If you put on your gloves and give it your all when it is needed the most, everything is paid back in full. I have developed tremendously at Toms and I am happy for the responsibilities that have been placed on my shoulders. I feel that i have freedom to give input and ideas and challenge myself. I certainly have not regretted my transfer to the shop, where I can live out my passion. If a production plant breaks down and a spare part has to be made, it is important to keep a cool head. Several production colleagues are waiting for that part and the tolerance is less than a millimetre.
