What is licorice?

Licorice is a plant, and are in the peaflower family. The Latin name is Glycyrrhiza Glabra and it is the roots that are used to make licorice products.

1902

Høgh´s licorice fabric was one of the first licorice producers in Denmark.

1950´s

In the 1950´s, some of the first icons, as we know them today, were created.

1962

Toms Group buys Høegh´s fabric and Pingvin as a brand are introduced.

1970´s

Several of today's most popular licorice icons emerge - Blue Jeans, Salt Pastilles and Heksehyl.

2024

Toms Group is today the largest licorice supplier on the Danish market, with 6 out of Top 10 licorice bags.
